Become a Support worker
CHCSS00130 Disability skill set

The Disability Skill Set gives you the skills to provide person-centered support to people with a disability in various settings. This can include people with a National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Plan that helps fund their support.
The course was designed with NDIS in mind. In that, the NDIS wants higher calibre support workers. Since personal trainers and group fitness instructors already have a nationally accredited fitness qualification, the solution was clear. Upskill fitness professionals.
There is also a need for personal trainers to diversify their services to supplement their income. Working as a personal trainer or group fitness instructor, you may experience cancellations, which can hurt your cash flow. Therefore, supplementing your personal training income with consistent support work is a win and a career outcome for the Health and Disability Support Course.

The FIt College Difference
Real world career outcomes
FIT College is partnering with FITCare Support Services to provide job opportunities for graduates of the Health and Disability Support Course through a selection process.
The Australian Government's NDIS National Workforce Plan (2021–2025) states that it will require approximately 353,000 NDIS workers to support around 530,000 participants. However, the Workforce Plan 2023–2028, released by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission, focuses on enhancing workforce capability and sustainability, and raises concerns about the availability of qualified and experienced support workers by 2028.
We love the NDIS
We are proud supporters of the NDIS, and they are proud supporters of us. Check out the NDIS.
