Are all the FIT College courses Nationally Recognised and Fully Accredited Australia Wide?

Yes! All courses are nationally recognised and accredited! FIT College is a Recognised Training Organisation (RTO Number: 31903). FIT College complies with current legislative and regulatory requirements impacting on participants in training. FIT College complies with all standards for Registered Training Organisations 2015. All assessment and certification is granted under and complies with the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Issuance Policy. All FIT College courses are approved for Centrelink study. If you are eligible for Centrelink finance or Austudy, speak to a representative and complete the necessary documents.

On campus courses (face to face) – what is the length of the full time and part time courses?

FIT College on campus courses are just that – ON campus! Our expert team of Fitness and Education Professionals have been in the industry for many years and have all completed further studies to become a FIT College Trainer and Assessor. Real Classroom, Real Teachers, Real Training, Real Experience!

Full time courses are generally 13 weeks in duration (Monday to Friday, 9.00 am to 3.00 pm) and part time courses are 2 evenings per week (6.00 pm – 9.00 pm: 26 weeks in duration).

Is there practical application and work experience in the courses?

Many students pick up work straight from work experience! FIT College has a non compulsory work experience program log book and we encourage all students to undertake this work experience. These experiences give you the tools, knowledge and practical skills to be a successful Fitness Professional.

What qualifications do I graduate with?

Certificate III and Certificate IV in Fitness! This means you are a fully certified and accredited Personal Trainer! Not only can you work in a gym as a gym instructor or personal trainer – you can also run your own training business! You also receive “children’s Trainer” as well as “older Adults Trainer” certification.

How long does the Certificate III and IV course Online take to complete?

The flexibility to this course is the key! Many of our students are working full time and completing their studies. We also assist many students in formulating a plan to complete the course in a set time frame. We have had students complete their Personal Trainer Qualification (Certificate III and IV in Fitness) in as little as 6 months, and others that wish to take the full 12 months allowed per qualification. The choice is yours!

Is there plenty of work for a Personal Trainer?

Absolutely, a common question we are asked at the college and in general conversation is – “Is there enough work for me when I finish as there seems to be a lot of trainers everywhere!?” There is always plenty of work for the right person with the right attitude and work ethic. Working with people is not easy but the rewards are endless if you are in the industry to help people. Am I too old to become a Personal Trainer?

Is certification via a correspondence course the same as doing it face to face?

In short – Yes, all Registered Training Organisations have to use the same training package regardless of the length and study mode of the course. FIT College’s blended online course is identical to that of out face to face course! The only difference is that you don’t sit in a classroom and complete your tuition! Online study involves you putting in time to carefully read, analyse and understand the material and then transfer that to the fitness ‘real world’. We also do all the assessment and final practical sessions with all online students in a face to face environment. This ensures that our graduates all achieve the same standard and quality.

Online Course – Where and how do the Practical assessments take place?

In order for FIT College to qualify you and assess your competence, there is a practical workshop that needs to be completed. The requirement is that all FIT College students attend a total of 2 x 2 day workshops at one of the various FIT College campuses Australia Wide. These special practical assessment workshops ENSURE students are competent in all facets of their Personal Training and education journey. Dates are listed on the FIT College student calendar allowing students the opportunity to book in dates that suit their study and lifestyle. All FIT College teachers are qualified Trainers and Assessors NOT just a Personal Trainers! This ensures our high quality standards are maintained and all students achieve the same level of feedback and assessment.

Please Note: A cost of $125 per qualification is payable when booking in for workshops at FIT College.

Are there any additional costs involved in the course?

On Campus: Besides personal stationery, your own internet access plan and laptop/PC — there are NO extra fees! Plus you have thousands of resources online available at your finger tips!

Online: There is a requirement that all FIT College students attend a total of 2 x 2 day workshops (2 days for certificate III and 2 days for Certificate IV) with a Qualified FIT College Trainer and Assessor. All travel and accommodation costs associated with you attending these workshops is at your own expense.

RPL and Skills Recognition. How does the process work?

If you have already completed some formal training before, you can apply for RPL or credit transfer towards your new qualification. Chat to FIT College today and work out the best way to submit your RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning). Once assessed by FIT College – we will put your plan together for completion of the competencies for Certificate III and IV Fitness.
PRICE: There is a $75 non-refundable application fee. Once assessed a FIT College Career Adviser will discuss the course fees with you based on any RPL or credit transfer achieved.

How does online study work? Is there loads of textbooks to study?

No everything is provided online. Our specially designed “Students” area has ALL of your resources, lecture notes and much much more! This website will be your ‘Cloud Campus’ and you can easily access your study material and student support.
